ROVIN CERAMICS G-2 (gloss) and G-3 (satin) are lead free and barium free economical base glazes, supplied dry, with each ceramic artist adding the appropriate colorant, either a Mason stain or an oxide. Colorants are generally added at the rate of 5 to 8 percent by dry weight. Depending on the colorant, firing range for ROVIN BASE GLAZE G-2 is Cone 1 to Cone 8. The firing range for a satin finish for ROVIN BASE GLAZE G-3 is Cone 5 to Cone 6. Both base glazes have an affinity for copper-tin pink, either as the oxides or Mason stains, such as 6006, resulting in true, stable pinks and reds at cone 7. Wear a NIOSH approved mask when pouring dry materials from one container to another.
