Cone 05-06 Glazes

Gloss Glazes (LG series)

This popular series of bright opaque and transparent glazes will fire at Cone 05-06 to a high gloss. These glazes can be applied on bisque or greenware by brushing, dipping, pouring or spraying. They will flow during firing to correct most application defects. For best results apply heavily. All colors available in pint jars. Economical gallons available in some colors.

Alligator Glazes (LT series)

No two pieces glazed with AMACO LT Alligator Glazes are ever alike due to the many variations in texture which occur in firing. Variegated matt textures predominate at the lower temperatures (cone 06) and gloss textures at the higher temperatures (cone 04). Not all colors shown below are lead free. Available in pints only.

Raku Glazes (R series)
Raku firing can be unpredictable, however the results will usually be dramatic. Fire initially to cone 05, then place in reduction medium. Follow all safety proceedures. Wear the proper safety equipment. Most of these glazes are NOT food safe. Inquire!

Underglazes

Liquid Underglaze Colors (LUG series)

Intense, ready to use liquid colors which can be used as is or blended to achieve other tints and shades. Can be applied to greenware or bisque. A transparent covering glaze (LG-09 or LG-10) is applied over the underglaze and then fired to the maturing temperature of C/06-05. All colors available in 16oz. pint & 2oz. jars. White and Black available in gallon jugs.

Sahara High Fire Glazes (HF series)
A series of lead free, high fire (cone 5-6) glazes, both gloss and matte, suitable for stoneware and porcelain bodies. Sahara glazes work well and produce interesting results when fired in oxidation as well as reduction. All are available in pints and some are also available in 1# dry, one gallon liquid, and 25# dry.
